My parents came to Richmond on Thursday to get me around lunchtime. We had some food, then hit the road for Florida. I felt like I was ripped away from the office and was still emailing and calling in all day from the road. I was tethered to my BlackBerry, as I had been for the past few months.
Funny though- that little thing is so handy. I used the BlackBerry to find out what time the Apprentice was on that night, and asked my parents to pull over in Florence, SC for the night so we could turn in early (and so I could catch the finale too). With that done, I worked on a paper for my new class. I finished around 1am after making my deadline, and hit that pillow hardcore.
We got started the next morning and had a safe trip to Florida. On Saturday morning, Mike introduced us to a pretty yummy pancake place and we chilled out back at his place. Since the assholes at Fox decided to lump their best show (The O.C.) into the same big time slot as CBS's best show (Survivor), I was only Tivo'ing one. The O.C. lost because it wasn't going to be talked about as much by the water cooler like Survivor was. Anyhow, Mike had all the episodes from season 2 available, and I got caught up within a few hours. Wow. The Drama...
The ceremony at Stetson was really nice. It was outdoors in a courtyard, surrounded by the stylish University buildings. Mike was one of a few dozen students who graduated from law school this season. Many don't make it past the first year. Many more never see graduation. Mike did it one semester early!
I don't know how I did it, but I managed to sneak in two really great shots during the ceremony. The timing was dead-on...I was very lucky! His gown was pretty slick looking, huh? We're all really proud of him for getting his JurisDoctorate!
Congrats, Dr. Korte!! :)
