Well, the LEGO project is finally completed! If you didn't know about it, it's only because I was trying to keep a lid on things. If you did and haven't seen it (to my knowledge, only 3 people have seen it up close so far) you can learn all about it on my new LEGO site. That was such a fun project that I am pretty sure I'll do something like that for myself future- I have an idea already for a piece over my couch, and a couple possible commission jobs I could get for doing these with companies in the Richmond area, so I might have some work fun ahead of me. I plan on making peer2all.com/lego home to all my future projects, so check back occasionally to see if anything's new.
I've been pretty damned busy at work recently, working on the customer flow process and the new website, as well as helping new members get used to the application and presenting at tradeshows. We've got a really sweet booth for shows, and we'll use it in a few days down in Orlando. The only thing I'm not excited about for Orlando is that I'll be spending my evenings doing Finance homework. :(
My finger is healing up pretty well. It looks like the scar will be diagonal, and the flap of skin is bonding pretty well over the wound. I am days away from being sans-bandage, and am looking forward to getting full abbilltiy bcak inn my tiypnig fnigerss.

My kitchen sink has been jammed with something- for weeks now, it's been clogging when I run the dishwasher, and I know it's a problem because a whole bottle of draino and a whole bottle of liquid plumber didn't fix it. I'm trying to think back on what I might have done to cause it, and I think I finally figured out the culprit...
Back in January, I spent an hour frying up a full pound of bacon to be used in breakfasts and recipes for the following month. That morning, I used a glass jar to collect the bacon grease (it's good for about a week in the fridge to use as pancake grease, if you're into getting fat while enjoying a really really good Southern-style breakfast), and while I poured the grease into the jar, some of it spilled into the sink and down the drain.
I'm told that it can harden in there....but still...shouldn't I be able to Draino it out? Sheesh. I'm calling in the maintenance guys tomorrow to fix the problem. I've been hand-washing dishes in the bathroom sink now for a while, and frankly, that's getting old.
I've been told by more than a handful of folks that voting day is coming around, and they're not sure who to vote for. I strongly encourage everyone eligible to get out and vote.
Kerry info: a bio
Bush info: a bio
...and really cool survey to help you decide which candidate more closely matches with you.
So there it is. Go out and vote. If it's Nov. 2, and you still haven't decided when you get to the polls and don't care, do this country a favor and vote for Bush. I really can't picture what kind of trouble we'd be in with Kerry in the office, and hope that the day never comes. Of course, if it does, I'll be the Patriot that I've always been and back the President, but I'm still staying confident that Bush will prevail and have four more years.
<Political stance>My own biggest concern in this presidential race is my personal safety. I don't have to worry about retirement drugs, or welfare reform or education or immigration as much as the next guy/gal, fortunately. Nope... for me, working downtown in the capital city of a state on the east coast freaks me out sometimes (especially on the 18th floor), and you know what? It shouldn't be a concern of mine. I trust Bush to keep it that way. I think "making friends" with corrupted nations like Kerry wants to will make us a nation of pansies, and that scares me. -- not having that reputation--but how much more vulnerable it'll make us to more groups who hate America no matter who is in the oval office.</Political stance>
I've said my piece here, because it's my blog, but you can say yours too in the ballot booth. Make up your own mind... but the worst thing you can do is not excercise your right- your priveledge- to vote.
On Saturday, Eric and Kelly had people over for a Halloween party. I showed up after finishing some homework to get my drink on. It was a pretty good turnout at the house- I don't really know how many people came, because I spent most of my time out on the porch. I didn't mean to stay out there the whole night, but the weather was just so awesome, and- let's face it... if you've got a stoop, you should use it.
There were some creative costumes at the party, including Darth Homer, Jango Fett, Martha Stewart, and the Bride of Frankenstein. Me? I threw a brown sheet over my head, tossed on an afro wig and played the part of the ghost of Rick James.
Oh, and before I forget....
BIG BIG congratulations to Tiago for completing the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday. I drove up to NoVA to see him finish the race and it was just awesome. That was a hell of an ordeal, and in typical Tiago style, he didn't appear to have been affected by the run at all 20 minutes afterwards. 26.2 miles can take its toll on the body. I hope you heal up well Tiago! Way to go!!
