Dad and I had a great time at EPCOT. We saw everything we came to see, not wanting to start with the attractions that we had done so recently (last November). The fireworks/laser show was amazing. I mean, they're cool at the Magic Kingdom, but the happy ol' Magic Kingdom doesn't have bursts of flames shooting out of torches while the fireworks are going off. That's just awesome.
We had dinner in Italy, because Canada was booked. He and I had lunch in Canada last Nov. and loved it, but it was so popular yesterday, we couldn't get in. The nice thing about EPCOT is that if you're booked from one place, you can walk a few steps and be in another country. :)
We made a day out of EPCOT, finally getting home around 10 or 11. I can't remember. It was a long day.
Class has been rough this week. Most of the online "tools" for learning have been dripping in through the modem at a snail's pace. I'm hoping to get most of my final exam stuff knocked out before leaving, which will free me up when I'm out there on the Pacific coast. That's the last thing I want to be tied to when I'm in a new area having fun!
I finally got some stitching done, after months and months of inactivity. I think the last time I had worked on the project was on my way back from Vegas. It was nice to work on things finally. Eventually, I'll get a new pic up and link to it here. I did some work on it today out in the sun, but it was too hot to stay out there. It's been about 96 degrees here every day. Within 10 minutes of sitting in the sun, I was soaking with sweat. Yuck.
We're heading for home tomorrow. Dad and I will start out early at 3:30am. It'll be a long day either way so we may as well get it over with. I have a lot of TiVo'ing to catch up with, some computer projects that have been neglected, a housecall to make, another project for my Southwestern bedroom in mind to tackle, and some delicious salmon in my freezer to grill. It was nice to be in Orlando, and it'll be nice to unwind a bit at the pad before heading out on my next adventure.
I can't say the weather will be much better in Richmond, but I am looking forward to San Francisco and Los Angeles, where it's warm in most places, but cool in others. This morning, I was looking up more things to do while out in California, and decided to look around for races. As I searched, I found one that looked pretty interesting (just kidding). Some were events called "Race Against Bush" (meaning president Bush...I'm assuming) Either way, I ain't running in it! ;) Anyhow, I got a few more things planned for California, including a backstage hangout session with an old friend at the Jimmy Kimmel show.
I'm taking suggestions for the L.A./Hollywood area now, so if you have ideas, please toss 'em below. Thanks!
