My host, Jeff Pollard.

Dad and I spent Sunday suiting me up for, well, a suit. Over the course of the last year or so, I had a suit and a sport jacket that were both way too big for me. Well, they weren't always too big for me, but you know. So anyways, I returned my stuff to Dad, who can get some minor tailoring done and keep them for himself, and in turn, he hooked me up with a new suit and sport coat.

You know I had lived 26 years not knowing that a suit is an esemble- basically a coat that is designed to go specifically with a pair of slacks.

I had, on occasion, been using a suit top with khakis, which is apparently a no-no. Apparently, that's just what a sport coat is for. So, now I have both. The pants are in the shop getting cuffed a bit, and when I get things back, you may just see a pic or two later.

After the fitting, Dad and I left the store to join Mom in the car to head to Arlington. We visited with Nana and Papa, then got some dinner. I had a ton of homework that night, changed Mom's oil around 2am and finally hit the sack.

I don't know if anyone remembers sometime last year when I tried to put a dot on the map for everywhere that I'd travelled.... anyhow, it became quite tedious. I had to open the original image, make the dot, resize and upload the image. Every time. It got annoying to update, so I stopped.

Looking for a better way, I asked my friends for a solution. Turns out Jeff was doing something just like this with Custom Tacos. It's a web-based program that not only points out locations, but gives information about the location too. I liked it, but didn't like the way the map was so small, so I looked around for a bigger map to use, spent a lot of time cleaning things in Photoshop.

So, with a little bit of php tweaking, and some help from Jeff, I got everything working great, so be sure to check out a new feature of peer2all.com, my big ol' honkin map o' travels. Enjoy.

I finally got new tires to remedy the situation formerly known as "the Lexington incident". Costco had a great deal with 80 bucks off the total order, so I made it out with some great tires for around 200 bones total.

I couldn't figure out why my car was riding so smoothly this morning until I realized it was the new tires. Ahhh. Sweet serenity again. I love that car.

I've been running all kinds of errands, organizing future trips for my July and even cleaning this place up. There's nothing like coming home to a clean apartment, and with a month of travelling, I'm sure it'll be good to come home again.

Oh, that reminds me. I'll be in Florida. Doing the Disney thing. looking forward to seeing Mike again and doing the roadtrip thing with Dad.

Comments:

The map looks great, Brian. And even your links on the right side of the map are working correctly in Safari. :)

Now, I gotta get mine done! You scooped me!

Bri- the map looks good! Great idea!

One thing though- you say: Dayton, OH- Home of the Football hall of fame. I was too young to remember anything except that OJ Simpson was pretty popular.

You're thinking of Canton which is in the northeast part of the state, about 60 miles from Cleveland or so.

Also, add Verona, NY to your map and call it: "Turning Stone Resort & Casino, Dan's current employer, where I visited March 2000 with Paul and Dan to gamble."

Wow, small cars = inexpensive tires. (Usually) My new ones on the truck were, well, a little bit more. I'm a little jealous! Have fun in Florida!

Rebecca- I guess the grass is always greener-- what I wouldn't give for a kick-ass black Tacoma with a "meet me at the Brogue" sticker on it! ;)

Dan- CANTON. damn. I was close. Thanks!

Another thing I must point out is that you cannot prove a vague theory wrong.
