Happy birthday to Michael Sos, today a member of thhe 26 club! Also, a big tip o' the hat to the girls, now in that age of oh-so-legal ascension. I don't get as hard-core about them as some, but you've got to take a sec to appreciate the hotness. Ahh... there. There we go.
It took 10-hours of sleep to recover from the wedding festivites last night, but more on that later. I got up around 2 and started catching up on some classwork. As the day went by today, I got to see my grandparents. They're hanging in there- enjoying the new automatic jar-opener Mom and Dad got for them. It's the simple things, folks. Dad and I went to get me fitted up for a new suit and sportcoat, slacks and a tie. My previous clothes were WAY too big for me, and it was time to trade up. Dad got all my hand-me-downs and treated me to new digs. They're great. It's going to be a slick-looking year. ;)
I spent all day on Friday in Gordonsville, Virginia, working on three computers for a couple who run a magic shop. Peter and Jackie own www.MagicTricks.com, a website devoted to the sale and knowledgebase for magicians of all ages and skillsets. While working on her machine, Jackie told me all about the site and how she taught herself HTML to get online back in the day when nobody was really online. Their house was fascinating (and admittedly, slightly creepy) with vintage magic posters on the wall, human heads on shelves, gargoyles, etc. One of the things I love the best about what I have been doing these past few weeks is meeting people from all walks of life. This was definitely a treat to work with them and get them all fixed up.
I came up to Northern Virginia in the rain and hung out with my parents for the night.
