My host, Jeff Pollard.

I called my grandparents earlier this week. On Tuesday, they celebrated their 66th anniversary. Of course, they celebrated it the way they have celebrated the last dozen or so anniversarys- breakfast together, a nap or two, some TV, a newspaper, a book, some lunch, a nap and dinner out to eat, followed by some Larry King, then bed. :) Life gets pretty routine after 80 years I suppose.

I can't speak from experience as far as marriage, but I can imagine that anyone who has lived with another person for a year can probably say that it's not always easy. 66 years is a duration I can't even fathom. And yet, they are still not only tolerating each other, but love each other. That's so great.

I didn't mention last week here on the site that Mike and Lauren had their first anniversary recently. Just 65 more to go, guys! you can be just like them, although I don't see that happening- Mike will do the TV watching (and griping at the liberal press) while Lauren does the napping. It'll be role-reversal from my grandparents' lifestyle. :)

This weekend is another weekend o' love. I'm coming home today to be at Steve and Shannon's wedding on Saturday. It's funny- There was something different about Shannon as compared to others Steve had dated, and there was something different about Steve when Shannon was in his life. I figured not long after they started dating that the conclusion would be happy ever after. I'm really happy for them.

Their wedding is going to be held outside in their future vineyard, 42 acres out near Harpers' Ferry. It'll be an evening wedding, and I'm already predicting a hell of a good time.

So yay to all the lovebirds!

Now that the big wave of work is done, I have sunk back into a normal schedule. I'm caught up on sleep, and am cooking more again. Last night, I took the leftover pizza sauce, tossed in some garlic, veggies, mushrooms and shrimp to make some pasta tonight, and laid it over some angel hair. I get tired of taking out the pot to cook stuff, so now I pretty much cook for about 3-4 meals and just reheat w/ the microwave. It's a lot easier, and I never know if I'll have the time later, so it's nice to have good food on stand-by.

I did a lot of reading today. With four chapters of Accounting behind me, I stared at the three assignments due Wednesday. Of course, Wednesday came and almost went before I finally got to writing, and of course, I got everything done. It came out better than I expected. I never in a million years thought I'd figure out accounting, but when it's been rammed into your head over and over, it's not rough. I fought it every step of the way though.

That time is over now for me though, because this week begins the group work, and when there's a team involved, I'm not about to let anyone down or not pull my share of the load.

It's off to bed now though. Tomorrow, I'm going to earn my keep by removing spyware from an office computer. Should prove to be interesting/challenging!

...I'm sorry, what? I was taking a nap.
