My host, Jeff Pollard.

Hi. My name is Brian Korte. I graduated from Radford University (that's in Radford, Virginia) with an Advertising degree and a lot of web production experience, most notably, the production of Whim (RU's student-run web magazine.) I came back home after graduation and worked three years as a webmaster at an Internet Security company. In June of 2000, I created a weblog (or blog) to chronicle my post-graduate adventures. I resigned my position in the fall of 2003 so I could move out on my own and start a new life in Richmond, VA.

Once in Richmond, I began contracting as a technical consultant and IT support professional while using my apartment as more of a home-base for traveling. I traveled all over the country. I visited every state in the continental U.S., as well as a few points in Canada and a day-trip into Mexico, working on my MBA from my laptop in hotel rooms from Astoria, Oregon to Bangor, Maine.

I completed my MBA in Technology Management in December of 2005 and in 2006, I launched Brickworkz LLC, a creative venture to sell mosaics to individuals and businesses using nothing but LEGO bricks.

I enjoy pushing limits and breaking my own records. In 2004, I ran a half-marathon and competed against myself in 5-10k running events around the country. In 2005, I got my motorcycle license and love taking my bike out on the open road. I enjoy writing and finding creative ways to solve problems. I like to de-mystify technology for people, especially older folks who haven't embraced technology. I enjoyed being a role model as an Eagle Scout and a student teacher in college. I like to unplug and do things that have nothing to do with computers a lot of the time. I can teach you how to juggle.

That's my story so far. My quest for knowledge is not over, nor is my desire to teach others. I hope to combine my creativity and entrepreneurial drive to create a future that will remain rich and fulfilling.
